A Nervous Start
Karan Johar began the show by confessing that he was on edge. With two such private celebrities on board, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif—both of whom are almost as mouth-shut as their respective roles—he was terrified not to have any gossip to share. But that was something far from what went about, as this episode emerged as no dull affair owing to the infectious chemistry in the guests and candid revelations in the Disney+ Hotstar TV shows.
The Gospel Truth
It doesn’t take Katrina Kaif very long to speak about what made her hesitant to appear on the show. “I always hated the rating games that follow every show and discussions after every episode,” she said, and with typical wit, continued, “After every episode of Disney+ Hotstar TV shows, whoever discusses Koffee With Karan acts like the gospel truth is spoken on the show. But, I can see the cameras; people are not saying the utmost truth.”
Katrina didn’t have any problem voicing her opinion of what was going wrong in the show and Karan as a host. She gave them a few recommendations, making Karan tell her to stop taking it to such an extreme level. “If your deep-rooted desire to judge Koffee With Karan is over, shall we continue with the show?” he quipped.
Anushka and Katrina’s Bond
Even the two Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars revealed how they actually bonded over their antisocial tendencies. Being antisocial has bridged the gap for Anushka and Katrina, who detest gossip and social gatherings alike. The camaraderie was well expressed in the episode as the two ladies had some fabulous conversations.
Dating Katrina
When Karan asked Katrina how she felt about so many people wanting to date her, she quipped, “If everybody wants to date me, it feels lovely. But I do not see any of these people.” Anushka interjected that if Katrina wanted to, she should start dating someone.
Bollywood’s Number Game
Anushka said she detests the number game of Bollywood and it is derogatory, and she wants to be remembered for her work. And Katrina on a lighter note said she believes in it as long as she is No. 1.
The Grudge Against Varun Dhawan
Karan looked deeper into Katrina’s grudge against Varun Dhawan and revealed that all of it was because Varun “killed” her in the previous episode of the show. Katrina further elaborated on the origin of the “I Hate Katrina Kaif Club,” which Arjun Kapoor and Varun began. Apparently, Varun got into trouble with Salman Khan for checking her out, leading to the creation of the club.
Forcing Brotherhood on Akshay Kumar and Arjun Kapoor
Katrina mentioned a funny incident at the shooting of Sheila Ki Jawani as she tried to make brotherhood exist between Akshay Kumar. I did the same with Arjun Kapoor, who ran away from the idea.
Anushka was both irritated and flattered at the same time. She started by saying she was surprised to hear that Arjun Kapoor had a crush on her, while Karan revealed that he had it during the shooting of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. She said that she was happy but her amusement lay in what Karan said.

What makes Anushka Sharma Turn Off?
Anushka comments, “I find very sexist those guys who don’t take off their shirt in front of girls unnecessarily-thereby giving themselves quite the free pass on.” It makes the gathering guffaw with the participation of Karan also and actresses.
Arjun Kapoor surprises the attendees by making his way into the ‘ Koffee With Karan. The actresses start laughing at this incident asking him to move. He does join his bit of ‘Kiss with Arjun’ session too when the actresses need to kiss him back to answer those specific questions.
Karan Johar Had A Meltdown for the First Time
In the “Kiss With Arjun” round, Karan asked how one would decide between stability and passion in a relationship. Anushka was bewildered, and this left Karan in his first-ever on-show meltdown, amusingly asking if she had gone mad and finally saying to Katrina that she needed to shut up as it was adding to the confusion.
The Rapid Fire Round
In the rapid-fire round, Katrina fluffed on a question related to Salman Khan, and some hilarious conversations followed. It was among the funniest segments of the episode, with Anushka’s answers and guest interactions.
Koffee Quiz
This phase of the Koffee Quiz saw Arjun refusing to leave. Anushka and Katrina were laughing; Anushka won and Karan declared Arjun the ‘Official Mascot’ of Koffee With Karan for entertaining through his presence.
The Ahaa Moment of this Episode
The chemistry between Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif was the highlight of the episode. Candid, funny, and full of mutual respect, they were entertaining to watch. Their readiness to poke fun at each other and themselves added freshness to the show.
